For the Desert picture, we took a picture of some cracked earth, copied it and spread it across the bottom. We distorted it to make it look like its fading away into the distance. I used a earthy tone gradient and placed it over the ground to make it blend better with everything else. I made another gradient of a dark blue, a lighter blue, and white -which was the sky. We took a light post and stuck it in the picture and gave it a shadow.
Doing both of these tutorials will help me with my surrealism project because I know how to take things that don't belong and make them fit in the picture.
